INTRODUCTION

If you only have one day in Hanoi, this tour is the perfect way to capture the spirit of Vietnam’s capital. You’ll step into the colorful world of Quang Phu Cau incense village, walk through history at Hoa Lo Prison and the Temple of Literature, admire the solemn beauty of Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and Ba Dinh Square, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere at Tran Quoc Pagoda by West Lake.

Along the way, you’ll also discover one of Hanoi’s most unique spots – the famous Train Street, where trains rush past just a few feet away from daily life. And of course, no Hanoi trip would be complete without tasting its signature dishes: bun cha, banh mi, and the unforgettable egg coffee that the world can’t stop talking about.

ITINERARY

Morning

  • 07:15 – 07:30: Pick-up from your hotel in the Old Quarter. Enjoy a 1.5-hour scenic drive to Quang Phu Cau incense village. Watch skilled artisans craft incense and take stunning photos of bright incense bundles drying in the sun – a true feast for the eyes and camera. (Rainy day alternative: visit Bat Trang Pottery Village (45 minutes from Hanoi). Explore a traditional workshop and try your hand at shaping clay under the guidance of local craftsmen).

  • Before 11:30: Arrive at Hanoi’s Train Street, one of the city’s most exciting spots where you’ll capture thrilling photos and videos as the train passes incredibly close to local homes. Lunch will be served here.

Guests on the half-day tour will return to their hotel with the guide after lunch.

Afternoon

  • Step into the past at Hoa Lo Prison, once called the “Maison Centrale” or the “Hanoi Hilton,” deeply tied to Vietnam’s revolutionary and war history.

  • Visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university since the 10th century, and admire its beautiful courtyards, Khue Van Pavilion, and the Doctor’s Steles resting on stone turtles.

  • See the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside) and stroll across Ba Dinh Square, where Vietnam’s independence was declared in 1945.

  • Head to West Lake and explore Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, built in 528 AD – a serene place to learn about Vietnamese Buddhism.

  • Wrap up your day with Hanoi’s most iconic drink: a creamy, flavorful egg coffee – the perfect sweet ending to your adventure.

  • 17:30: Return to your hotel or the original meeting point. End of tour.
